We are carpenters first.

We started as framers, and the structure of the house is still work our own crew does — put up square and plumb so every trade after us has something true to work off. Today we build complete new homes as the general contractor, from the design and the foundation through plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and the finish work at the end. We also do decks, garages, and siding.

We work directly for homeowners and as a subcontractor for general contractors and builders. Either way, the arrangement is the same: you deal with the people doing the work, not a salesperson who hands you off.

What we are careful about

• Showing up. Crews that disappear for a week are the single most common complaint in this trade. We tell you the schedule and we work it.
• The number holding. We walk the property before quoting so the estimate is built on what is actually there, not on guesses over the phone.
• Leaving it clean. The site gets picked up at the end of the day. You live there.

Licensed, and accountable for the code

We hold a Wisconsin Dwelling Contractor certification, and a Dwelling Contractor Qualifier credential is held on staff. Both are issued by the Department of Safety and Professional Services. That is what lets us pull building permits for one- and two-family homes anywhere in the state.

It matters more than a line on a website. When we pull the permit, we become the party accountable for meeting Wisconsin’s Uniform Dwelling Code on your job, not you. If an inspector finds something, it comes back to us to put right.

Every trade, one point of contact

On a new home we take care of all of it: the design, excavation and concrete, framing, roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, insulation, drywall, and finishes. Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC are done by licensed Wisconsin contractors we have worked with for years. We hire them, schedule them, and check their work, and they pull their own permits under their state licenses, as Wisconsin requires. You do not have to find or manage a single sub.

The Uniform Dwelling Code covers one- and two-family homes. Buildings of three units or more fall under the commercial code instead, so if that is what you are planning, say so early and we will tell you honestly whether it is a job for us.

Weather is not an excuse

We frame in Wisconsin. That means working through cold and wind for a good part of the year, and planning the schedule around what the weather will actually allow rather than pretending it will not happen.
